"Do you use The Google"?
by Chris on Aug.29, 2008, under General Posts
This may or may not be big news, but I think it matters… John McCain apparently does not know how to use a computer. Not that the internet is the end all of knowledge, but I think our nation’s leader aught to be able to utilize the available information technologies rather than rely solely on what others whisper in his ear. The last thing we need is another deliberately ignorant president.
In other news, I’ll be at the RH all weekend cutting firewood, driving Thor, test firing my 1936 Soviet-made Mosin-Nagant and watching the mighty AuSable roll by.. Drop in if you happen to find yourself in the greater-Grayling area over the next three days…
Soaring Slide Show

I was just digging through my web server and came across this audio sideshow I made last Summer for The Grand Rapids Press. I got to go flying for an afternoon while photographing and recording Dr. John Iacobucci for a “Your Life” profile in the Sunday Paper. This was easily the coolest assignment I had during my eight month internship for the Press.

…with another great poster for Terracotta Half-Life. Check out this graphic highlighting our late-summer line up of shows in Marquette. Audio clips of the band can be found on our website, or in my old blog postings…
Watch out Gregory Crewdson

Two nights ago I did a photo shoot for our band, TerraCotta Half-Life. I was working on getting my main light balanced with the hair light (hidden behind the maple tree) and I noticed the potential for this photo of our singer, Jenny. It was pitch black out when we were shooting so I had total control over light and color making this a really fun image to work on. My main light was an Alien Bee at 3/4 power shot through a 36 in. umbrella and the hair light was my Canon Speed light at 1/4 power. Thanks to Jenny for letting us use her Alien Bees.
And for anyone who cares:
Camera: Canon 1D Mark-2
ISO: 200
F 7.1
1/200th
WB: Flash
Lens: 24-70mm 2.8
Focal Length: 24mm
Then Kevin started playing an accordion for reasons unknown and I made this gem of a photo.

Good luck to those racing in this weekend’s Ore to Shore bike race. Especially Eric and Sean who are riding single speeds. See you at the awards ceremony.
