Day #002

by Chris on May.18, 2009, under A year of photos

For day two of my photo a day project, I’m picking this image I shot while on assignment for The Grand Rapids Press. On days when there’s nothing scheduled for a photographer, you’re expect to go out and find “enterprise” photos. These can be almost anything interesting that’s happening in the community. I walked from our office downtown to see what was going on and saw this window washer working on the National City Bank Building.

Day #001

by Chris on May.17, 2009, under A year of photos

  • Over the last 5 years I have amassed about 30,000 photographs on my external hard drives.  They include everything from left over shots from newspaper assignments to abstract long exposures made while I was figuring out my various Digital SLR’s.   For 5 years I’ve keep everything.
For the next year, starting today, I will dig through my archives and post one picture every day.  I plan on using a wide variety of images spanning my time shooting.

So, I’ll begin this project with one of my very early images.   I had my new Rebel for just a few days and was walking through lower harbor during a blizzard and noticed these benches and lamp. The Lower Harbor ore dock is visible in the background…
