This project of posting a photo every day for a year has forced me to revisit my archives many times in search of material. This photo has been sitting there unnoticed for several years but now that I found it, again, I realize that I am a huge fan. For me, strong foregrounds and a good sense of depth are key elements separating “pictures” from “photographs”. What do you think?

I shot this with my Canon G10. For a point and shoot, that camera has great macro capabilities. The Photo is lit with one Alien Bee B800 studio light shot through a 48″ soft box, triggered with Pocket Wizards…
